April Top Shelf Red Sampler

Six tasty, unique wines from around the world for only $125!

2022 Joyce Pinot Noir, Arroyo Seco, Monterey, CA – This Pinot Noir is a pure representation of the coastal terroir in Monterey County. The fruit was harvested from vineyards in the Arroyo Seco AVA. This AVA is recognized as having the longest growing season in California. Strong daily winds that bring cool fog from Monterey Bay force the grapes to spend more time on the vine building flavor and complexity. Extremely rocky well-drained alluvial soils are the base for creating wines processing freshness & minerality. Aromas of cherry, strawberry-rhubarb pie, sage, and roses. The palate follows through with bright cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry, and cola notes. $27.00

2022 Kinder Stranger Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington – 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec. Washington Cabernet vines grown in basalt derived gravel on the shoulders of Red Mountain give excellent depth, intense fruit and ample structure from this awesome site. The Weinbau Vineyard’s 30-year-old Malbec vines pile on the concentration and spice notes. Fermented whole berry with indigenous yeasts, then macerated an average of 28 days between the lots. Black currant and dried herbs lead to lithe black cherry fruit flavors supported by a fine sense of acidity and tannic structure. Plum flavors linger on the finish. $21.00

2020 Diego Pressenda Barbera d’Alba Superiore, La Torricella Ariota, Italy – Aromas of red licorice, wild cherries, cranberries and dried herbs. Full-bodied with silky tannins. Fresh, bright red fruit plays well with savory herbs and spice on the palate. Balanced and long with fine-tuned intensity and depth. This can age but why wait? Drink or hold. JamesSuckling: 93 $22.00

2021 Division Winemaking Company “Salmagundi” Red, Washington/Oregon – Just like with its English namesake melange delicacy of a dish (google it!) the sum of the parts in this wine creates pure unexpected magic. This Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Syrah-leading wine is a veritable burgeoning love affair of rustic Italian reds, but with a Pacific Northwest twist. It is a wine of remarkable depth and character. With each sip, you will encounter a symphony of flavors from bright cherry to ripe plum mingling together into the wine’s velvety tannins and well-integrated oak. Structured yet smooth, boldness and elegancy culminating in a lingering finish. $29.00

2021 Cantina Tramin Pinot Bianco, Alto Adige, Italy – The Moriz Pinot Bianco is a vibrant white, with hints of anise and creamed almond on the nose, transitioning to flavors of pineapple, cut apple, lemon oil and tarragon on the palate, revealing a subtle underpinning of minerally petrol and stone. Sleek and supple, with a lasting finish. Drink now through 2026. Wine Spectator: 91 $26.00

2021 Cepa 21 “Hito” Tempranillo, Ribera del Duero, Spain – This deep ruby-colored wine has a nose of raspberry jam, cocoa butter, and herbs de Provence. It is bright at first sip, with raspberry, red currant, toffee, milk chocolate, and aniseed flavors. Vivid acidity and luxurious tannins stroll hand in hand to a satisfying finish. Wine Enthusiast: 93 $22.00
