Wine of the Week
22020 Novas Gran Reserva Carmenere-Cabernet
Colchagua, Chile
At Emiliana Vineyards, they don’t just believe that organic and biodynamic agriculture is the best way to make wine; they are also sure that this way of life will help lead them into a future with respect and wisdom. They are organic because of their convictions, ideology, and love.
For them, being organic means taking care of nature, protecting the environment, and valuing the people who make it possible for their wines to arrive in the glasses of their consumers. They are organic because they understand that nature can express itself authentically and uniquely by caring for the earth and its fruits. And when nature can express itself, it can change the world, wake passions, and provoke change.
Of course, they will continue advancing, innovating, and working passionately each day, convinced that the future is organic.
Novas, Emiliana’s organic Gran Reserva line of wines, reflects the innovation, quality, and care for their vineyards. When ancient astronomers observed the twinkling of the stars, they thought it meant that a new star was forming, and they called it Novas. These wines are a tribute to this patient and curious observation of nature.
Tasting Note: In this blend of organically grown 85% Carmenère and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s easy to recognize the typical varietal expression of Carmenère, with spices, some herbal notes, and a nice balance of fruits that recall ripe cherries and hints of blackcurrants.
Well-bodied on the palate, its soft and round tannins lead to a harmonious and persistent ending. JamesSuckling: 92 $16.00
Feature Price: $12.00/bottle for four or more bottles.
