WINE
Wine is my first and still my favorite passion. My wine selection is focused on great values from family owned, estate wineries. These producers often practice organic viticulture and make the best wine that their estate allows. They don’t follow fads and make “cookie cutter” wines like corporate wineries. I offer great wine from all the classic and up and coming regions from around the world. Want tasty, authentic wine? I’ve got it in spades!
BEERS
Here, I keep it simple and focus on great local breweries.
I love Pikes Peaks, Eddyline, Wibby and Lone Tree. I also like to keep a couple imported favorites around like Stiegl Brewery from Salzburg, Austria and Menabrea Brewery from Piedmont, Italy.
EUROPEAN WINES
My Beyond room focuses on wine from all my “old world” favorites like Italy (Brunello, Barolo, Amarone), France (Burgundy, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Bordeaux and Loire), Spain (Rioja, Priorat, Ribera del Duero, Jerez, Jumilla, Galicia and more), Portugal (Douro, Alentejo, Bairrada, Vinho Verde and more), Greece, Germany (reds are a specialty), Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia and more.
SPIRITS
Bring on the unique and boutique distilled spirits! I love my whiskey whether it be bourbon, rye, Irish or Scotch. I prefer spirits that are “mashed, distilled and bottled” by and at the estate that make them. Want local spirits…I’ve got that too. I love the whiskey from Durango Craft Spirits, particularly their Blue Corn Bourbon sourced from indigenous farmers in southwest Colorado. The whiskeys from Laws Whiskey House in Denver will equally rock your taste buds. Of course, I offer beautiful brandy, vodka, gin, tequila and more all based on the estate-based premise.

My mission is simple:

My secret…simple…passionate curiosity.
How do I do it?
Teamwork with a network of specialty importers and distributors. After more than twenty years working together, they understand and actively facilitate my quest for unique, authentic libations. Together we travel the world in search of the “good stuff” to share with like-minded, curious, passionate customers like you!
I was bitten by the “wine bug” as a young Army officer stationed in Germany in the early nineties. After leaving the Army, I entered the corporate world but kept thinking, “Wouldn’t it be great if I could make a living selling wine!”
In 1998, finally fed up with the corporate “rat race,” I resolved to turn my passion into reality. To my wife’s dismay, I quit my corporate job and moved my family to Colorado to work as a wholesale wine salesperson. The wholesale business was exciting and career-enhancing, but I still longed to own my own specialty wine & spirits shop.
So in 2000, I jumped at an opportunity to purchase The Wine Seller from some wine enthusiasts ready to retire early. Now I live, sell, and share my passion for fine wines and spirits daily with novices and connoisseurs. Let me introduce you to my curated world of fine wine and spirits!
